Financial evaluation of the National Bank of Algeria (BNA) using models to predict financial failure and the imperative to accelerate privatization procedures
Abstract
This study analyzes the financial performance of the National Bank of Algeria using financial failure prediction models to assess default risk. Findings show the bank currently maintains a stable position supported by public policies. However, prediction models reveal structural imbalances that may affect future performance. These include weaknesses in operational efficiency, financing structure, and revenue diversification. The study recommends improving efficiency, restructuring financing, and diversifying income sources. Privatization is suggested to reinforce capital structure, reduce debt dependence, and ensure long-term financial sustainability.
