Résumé

The environment has become one of the most pressing global concerns, particularly as humanity
increasingly recognizes its fundamental role in sustaining life and ensuring long-term
prosperity. Sustainable development, which aims to meet present needs without compromising
the ability of future generations to meet their own, is inextricably linked to environmental
preservation. In Algeria, environmental challenges such as resource depletion, pollution, and
climate change pose significant threats to sustainable growth. This paper explores the intricate
relationship between the environment and sustainable development, highlighting Algeria’s
efforts to integrate environmental considerations into its national development policies. By
examining key initiatives, policies, and challenges, the study sheds light on Algeria’s approach
to balancing economic progress with ecological responsibility.
