About the Journal
Al-Manara Journal for Historical Studies and Research publishes original, peer-reviewed scholarly articles, with the aim of providing high-quality content to its readers, in accordance with the principles of publication ethics and the prevention of unethical practices.
The journal adopts the following ethical principles:
1. The research must serve the general policy and objectives of the journal and fall within its areas of specialization.
2. General Ethics and Academic Conduct
It is mandatory to comply with general ethical standards and to avoid:
- Insults or offensive language
- The promotion of false or inaccurate information
- Any discourse that contradicts the objectives of the journal and the ethics of scientific research
Any critical evaluation must be:
- Based on scientific arguments
- Supported by relevant references
3. Intellectual Property and Academic Integrity
When citing previous scholarly works, inventions, or translations thereof, authors must fully respect the rights of the original authors and adhere to academic integrity in all citations.
All researchers must:
- Demonstrate the originality of their research
- Assume full ethical responsibility for their citations
The journal shall not bear responsibility for any violation of these principles and reserves the right to use plagiarism-detection software on submitted manuscripts.
4. Peer Review Process
Once a manuscript meets the preliminary submission requirements, it is submitted to the editorial board and is subject to mandatory peer review.
The author shall be informed of the decision of the scientific committee.
The journal reserves the right to modify or remove any content deemed inappropriate, without altering the essence of the article.
5. Confidentiality
The editorial board is committed to maintaining strict confidentiality regarding:
- The identity of the author
- The peer-review process and its outcome
This confidentiality is maintained from the moment the manuscript is received until the final publication decision.
6. Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers must act with full responsibility and uphold the ethics of peer review. They must remain objective and free from any personal or external influence.
7. Review Timeline
Reviewers are required to submit their evaluation within a maximum period of one month from the date of assignment.
If the manuscript falls outside their field of expertise or they are unable to review it, they must immediately inform the editor-in-chief to allow reassignment to another qualified reviewer.
8. Editorial Decision
The editorial board reserves the right not to publish submitted manuscripts and is under no obligation to provide reasons for rejection. Its decision is final and not subject to appeal.
9. Use of Unpublished Work
The journal does not publish rejected manuscripts and does not use, reproduce, or exploit their content or findings without prior permission from the author.
10. Language Revision
The author is responsible for linguistic proofreading prior to submission. The author must also implement all revisions requested by reviewers; otherwise, the manuscript will not be published.
11. Submission of Revised Manuscripts
In case of revisions, the author must send the corrected version to the same email address from which the revision request was received. It must not be resubmitted through the platform, as it will be considered a new submission.
Academic Integrity
The author bears full responsibility in the event of any breach of academic integrity. In such cases, the author shall be banned from publishing in the journal for a period of five (5) years. The journal administration reserves the right to take further action if necessary.
