Abstract
This research paper aims to examine the pivotal role played by the National Liberation Front’s (FLN) External Delegation in Cairo (1954–1962) in preparing for and supporting the Algerian Revolution. The delegation worked to secure logistical support, including weapons and funding, and conducted intensive diplomatic campaigns aimed at internationalizing the Algerian cause. It also established the radio station “Voice of Algeria” to raise awareness of the revolution and boost the morale of the Algerian people.
Thus, a combination of internal and external factors contributed to the outbreak of the Algerian Liberation Revolution. On the eve of the revolution, members of the Party of the Algerian People (PPA) and the Special Organization (OS) had established contacts with Arab countries in the Middle East, particularly Egypt, which pledged its support for the Algerian armed struggle. Following the outbreak of the revolution, former members of the Special Organization in Cairo became representatives of the FLN abroad and continued their efforts to secure material, moral, and diplomatic support from Arab countries, while also working to facilitate the delivery of weapons to the interior of Algeria.
